Jack the Pit Bull is a hero in the eyes of his grandmother. The rescue dog was being looked after by Sherree Lewis while her son served overseas in Afghanistan. It was during his stay that he ended up saving her cat’s life!

The two pets were playing in the backyard of her Florida home when Kitty was attacked by a pair of coyotes. One had her by the neck and the other by the tail and they were violently shaking her. Seeing that his friend was in trouble, Jack sprinted to her rescue!
They were brought together by second chances; now Kitty has a third, thanks to Jack.

“He probably feels like he’s the caretaker. He checks on her every day and sniffs her, seeing what kind of shape she is in,” said Sherree Lewis.

The two are family pets, and both were rescues. Sherree watches over her son Peter’s dog while Peter is deployed in Afghanistan. She never imagined Jack would become the family’s second hero.
